What does this number measure?
The Atomium publishes a total height of 102 m. Its nine spheres suggest an enlarged crystal unit cell; real atoms are not hollow metal spheres.
Compare the stated dimensions
The comparison uses the number in each fact sheet: altitude, height, diameter, length or distance, depending on the reference. Two values in metres do not necessarily describe the same property.
Source and limitations
Representative or rounded dimensions according to the source; these are not a confidence interval.
An original interpreted illustration of the Atomium: nine metal spheres, tubes and supports. The measurement covers the total height from ground level to the top of the upper sphere; reflections, details and projection are not an architectural survey.
Documented construction or demonstration: 1958.
