What does this number measure?
An altitude is not the visible height of a mountain above its base. Displayed dimension: summit altitude above sea level.
The adopted dimension is an altitude above sea level. Comparing it with Ventoux gives an altitude ratio, not a comparison of the mountains’ volumes.
Compare the stated dimensions
The comparison uses the number in each fact sheet: altitude, height, diameter, length or distance, depending on the reference. Two values in metres do not necessarily describe the same property.
Source and limitations
Catalogue value to check against the source; not individually audited.
