What does this number measure?
The Rothemund laboratory describes shapes approximately 100 nm wide and 2 nm thick, made with one long strand and DNA staples. The reference compares the face's width, not its thickness.
Compare the stated dimensions
The comparison uses the number in each fact sheet: altitude, height, diameter, length or distance, depending on the reference. Two values in metres do not necessarily describe the same property.
Source and limitations
Representative or rounded dimensions according to the source; these are not a confidence interval.
Flat DNA origami face based on Rothemund's structures (2006): folded double helices with two eyes and an openwork smile. Representative width≈ 100 nm compared. Interpreted molecular rendering, not a photograph; colours and strand details are not certified atom by atom.
Documented construction or demonstration: 2006.
