What does this number measure?
Yantian terminal describes a length of 399.99 m at Ever Alot's first call in July 2022, following delivery in June. This bow-to-stern length is compared with that of other ships. The 24 004 TEU stated in the same document is a nominal capacity expressed in twenty-foot container equivalents: it is neither the number of containers aboard on every voyage nor a length. The visible stacks are illustrative; they do not describe an actual cargo. The record mentioned in the announcement dates from its publication in 2022; no current ranking is claimed.
Compare the stated dimensions
The comparison uses the number in each fact sheet: altitude, height, diameter, length or distance, depending on the reference. Two values in metres do not necessarily describe the same property.
