What does this number measure?
The Triton reference fleet gives an external length of 6 058 mm for a standard 20-foot container, or 6.058 m. Typical external width and height are 2.438 and 2.591 m. The compared length includes the ends; it is neither the internal length nor the cargo volume. The view is from the side, and the corrugated steel is interpreted.
Compare the stated dimensions
The comparison uses the number in each fact sheet: altitude, height, diameter, length or distance, depending on the reference. Two values in metres do not necessarily describe the same property.

Source and limitations
Typical dimensions for a fleet, not an individual inspection of a specimen or manufacturing tolerances. The term 20 feet denotes a commercial class.
Interpreted elevation of a 20-foot ISO container. Horizontal external length calibrated; fittings and sheet-metal details are interpreted.
